I've an unofficial Xbox wireless gaming receiver which works with my android tablet but fails to work on my PC as Windows can't find the driver software. I have tried using guides which have mentioned downloading the drivers of Microsoft's website and doing it manually but I get a code 10 error when doing this. Please could anyone offer some help.

I have the MS one and all xbox stuff seamlessly works with Windows, no download etc required. Or just a case of you just so happen to have it knocking about. Not a dig i am just wondering if advantage to using unofficial ones.

We have the ms wireless reciever thingy for Windows and the bastard thing would not install no matter what I did. Eventually I discovered it was something called joytokey that was over riding it that my son had installed.

It supposedly helps running it through a powered USB hub but still, mine didn't last. I managed to repair one but destroyed the other. On the other hand my kids have one each and had no issues so it may just be motherboard dependant.
